Nakiganda Doreen

Nakiganda Doreen is a 14-year-old girl whose parents are Alive but she dropped out of school and started hawking vegetables   which were grown by her mother in the land that she hired to grow food for her family. The father is alcoholic and the mother is a peasant farmer who grows food for home consumption. One day after she had saved her money to re-start school her father borrowed the money promising to pay her later of which she accepted. The father drank all the money and when she asked for her money she was greatly beaten by the father. This caused a lot of fight between her parents that she decided to never ask for the money to avoid domestic violence at home. She is looking for help to enable her go back to school.

Nanyunja Kabejja

Nanyunja Kabejja, after the primary section she dropped out of school and was left to live with her grandmother after the parents had separated. Her grandmother is usually sickly and she helps to nurse her. When people come to their home to check on her grandmother She tells them to pray for her desire to go back to school because she feels that all her dreams are at a standstill. and hopeless about her future.

Vickie Namakula

Namakula Vickie stays with her Aunt after her parents had separated, the father remarried again abandoning her to her Aunt who owns a market stall in the town suburbs. Because she could not take care of her and at the same time pay her fees she now helps her to make sales in the market and she has dropped out of school.

Sharon Nalule

Nalule Sharon is 16 years old and has spent three years after her primary level without going to school. What bother her is that all her friends are able to go to school while she spends her day helping her aunt in the garden.  She has suffered a lot of shame from her friends who look at her as a failure. She feels overwhelmed with the burden of waiting to return to school but with no hope to realize her dream. She needs help to rebuild her future.

Dorris Nassiwa

Dorris Nassiwa stays with her grandmother and she hawks tomatoes to raise her school fees, she walks long distances looking for clients, sometimes it could get dark while she is walking home and she has survived being raped on several occasions currently she has dropped out because she could not sustain herself in secondary level.

Juliet Nakassagga

Juliet Nakassagga is under the care of her grandmother after her parents had separated. The grandmother was working in the market selling food stuffs but earning so little and she was sickly. So she   suggested to her to work on the market stall in the evenings after school so that they could both survive and that she’s also able to be at school. Her grandmother became ill and was taken by the family relatives to take care of her, leaving Juliet alone in the house, she could no longer sustain the business so she has dropped out but her dreams are still alive.

Maria Julian Nanfuuka

Maria Julian Nanfuuka is aged 13 whose family migrated to search for jobs on a farm. Due to the minimum wage received by the parents they could not afford to pay for her secondary education. She is worried her parents may marry her off if she doesn’t resume school.
